Everything is full-sized and the box has an $84 value for $25 (if you're already a Glossybox subscriber) or $30 if you're not a subscriber. Either way, it's a great deal!

Cool New Pacifica Products at Ulta

3

Pacifica just dropped a bunch of new products at Ulta.com and I'm fighting the urge to put them all in my cart because so many of them sound so cool!

First of all, can we talk about the Indian Coconut Nectar Perfumed Hair & Body Mist? I'm obsessed with the body lotion of the same scent so I'm really excited about being able to layer it on even more.

Then there's the Invisible Powers Dry Shampoo...it's not in an aerosol container, it's in a pump so I'm trying to figure out what the texture is like. Definitely intriguing!

The Cocoa Rush Anti-Fatigue Mask had me at "it looks and smells like chocolate pudding". Enough said. :)

Also, I need to try the Cherry Kisses Hydrating Lipstick Wipes that claim to exfoliate and hydrate your lips while you remove your lipstick...how cool is that??

Then there's the Happy Water Essence Wash that's supposed to be a rinse-free multi-cleanser, and the Happy Essence Hydro Mist to refresh skin and fight the look of fatigue with green tea and coconut water.

There are even new hair products, such as the Salty Waves conditioner and Salty Waves texture spray, as well as the Berry Dreamy Sleep Over Hydration Mask and Banana Love Deep Intensive Moisture Mask.

And there's plenty more where that came from! Check out all the new goodies from Pacifica now at Ulta.com. What's on your list?

Perricone MD Cocoa Moisture Mask Review

perricone md cocoa moisture mask review
Back in January, I posted about all of the new skincare products I wanted to try in 2017, including the Perricone MD Cocoa Moisture Mask. So I was really excited when Perricone MD sent me a jar last week! I started putting it to the test that same night and have used it three times already (and I'm officially just as addicted to it as I am to real chocolate).

The Balm 50% Off Sale Starts Tomorrow + My Recommendations

5
the balm 50% off sale

The Balm Cosmetics is having one of their amazing sitewide 50% off sales tomorrow, 2/27 starting at 10 am Pacific (that's 1 pm Eastern, 12 pm Central, and 11 am Mountain) and running for 24 hours only.
I always take advantage of the sale every time they offer it because I'm obsessed with their blushes, highlighters, and eyeshadow palettes and I've started quite the collection. I think they are one of the most underrated makeup brands out there, so if you're looking to score some high-quality makeup at closer to drugstore prices, you'll want to grab some things tomorrow!

To help with any shade decisions you might have, I went ahead and swatched my entire collection for you guys, so let's get started!

Powder Blush (on sale from $10-$11 each):
The Balm's powder blushes are the most reached-for in my collection, hands down. I own everything except for the Bahama Mama bronzer and some of the Instain Blushes.
The Balm Powder Blushes
The Instain blushes are super long-wearing and unique because they're a powder stain! Argyle is a cool-toned petal pink matte and the lightest of all the Instain shades they carry. Whenever I've seen them in person at Kohls, I always feel like the rest of the shades will be too dark for my fair skin, so even though I love the formula, I only own this one color. Down Boy (cool baby pink matte) and Frat Boy (warm peachy pink matte) are the colors I reach for the most, as they're really flattering on my fair/light skin tone. Hot Mama is very similar to Frat Boy, except it has shimmer (all the rest are matte), so that's another favorite of mine. Balm Beach is a beautiful warm-toned nude, but it's very pale and will only show up on the fairest of skin tones...I love wearing it with more of a smoky eye. Cabana Boy is a dusty rose shade that would look amazing on medium to deep skin tones (I still love it too but have to use a very light hand). Balm Desert is a medium brown shade with a rosy undertone, and it can be used as either a bronzer or a blush. I sometimes use a light dusting as a blush when I want a bronzy look (and it's gorgeous) but it's a little too deep for me to wear all over as a bronzer.

How 'Bout Them Apples? Lip & Cheek Cream Palette (will be on sale for $16):
I love using the How 'Bout Them Apples palette as cream blushes because they're incredibly long-wearing (they last all day) and they're very silky and blendable. I'm not a fan of using them on my lips, as I find them a bit too drying for that but on my cheeks they're amazing. I layer them under powder blushes to get even longer wear time. They all go on matte except for Crisp, which has just a little bit of shimmer.
How 'Bout Them Apples?

The Manizer Sisters Palette (will be $14 on sale):
Mary Lou Manizer was around well before the highlighter craze started but it's still one of my favorite highlighters of all time because it's so finely milled and is the perfect champagne shade. It gives the most perfect glow to your skin without glitter or looking overly shimmery. Cindy Lou and Betty Lou are too deep for me to use as highlighters but they make amazing eyeshadows and blush toppers. They are also sold separately if you don't want all three (and will be $12 each during the sale), but I love the convenience of having them all in one palette
The Manizer Sisters Palette

Meet Matt(e) Nude & Meet Matt(e) Trimony (will be $21 each on sale):
If you're into matte eyeshadows, you're going to LOVE these! The Balm makes one of my favorite matte eyeshadow formulas, as it's triple milled, highly-pigmented, blendable, and true to the color in the pan. Meet Matt(e) Nude on the left is more of a cool-toned palette, while Meet Matt(e) Trimony on the right has mostly warmer shades with a few cooler shades mixed in. I was planning on picking up the new Meet Matt(e) Ador palette which was just released last week but the reviews on the website are negative so I might hold off until I can swatch it in-store at Kohls.
Meet Matt(e) Nude (left) and Meet Matt(e) Trimony (right).

Nude Dude & Nude 'Tude Palettes (will be $18 each on sale):
If you're into nude or everyday shades, the Nude Dude & Nude 'Tude Palettes are amazing, and again, so underrated! They have great pigmentation and blend beautifully on the eyes.

Nude Dude has cooler-toned shades that are great daytime/work appropriate colors in both shimmer and matte shades.
Nude Dude

Nude 'Tude is filled with deeper, smokier nudes that are great for nighttime/evening looks.
Nude 'Tude

The Balm Appetit Palette (will be $19.75 on sale):
The Balm Appetit palette wasn't one of my favorites from The Balm, but I wanted to include swatches anyway in case you were thinking of picking it up. The formula is great overall (the two blue/gray shades on the bottom are a little streaky without primer) but for me, the shade selection is just ok. There are a couple that I absolutely love but that's not enough to make me want to reach for this palette every day.
The Balm Appetit

Highlite 'N Con Tour Highlight & Contour Palette (will be $18 on sale):
Overall, I really like this palette...it has just about everything you would need to highlight and contour your face. It has both shimmery and matte highlighting powders (including a matte yellow for under the eyes), two different contour shades, a bronzer (which I think is a bit too orange) and a blush. All of the shades are very soft, pigmented, and easy to blend.
Highlite 'N Con Tour

Also, I just recently used up my tube of the Mad Lash Mascara (will be $9 on sale), and in my opinion, it's the best one they carry! It gives my lashes tons of length and volume and doesn't smudge underneath my eyes. I also love their Batter Up Cream Eyeshadow Sticks (will be $8.50 each)...they're long-lasting and I love wearing them alone or layered under powder as a primer.

I completely forgot to swatch them, so I'll do it in the morning (check back here before the sale if you'd like to see my swatches).

So those are my recommendations from The Balm! Will you be shopping the sale tomorrow? What's on your list?

Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam Review

6
I was browsing around in Sephora a few weeks ago and spotted the Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam ($28) right in the front of the store where all the new products are. Now, I'm not really a dry shampoo person...I still have yet to try one that smells good and doesn't leave a powdery, sticky, residue in my hair. I usually end up just washing my hair every other day and if I'm starting to look greasy on the second day, I just put it up in a bun.

But the idea of a dry shampoo foam was so intriguing to me! I stood there in front of the display and imagined freshening up my hair with no white powdery residue...then I squirted a little into my hand and it smelled so fresh and clean. I was sold and couldn't put the bottle into my basket fast enough.

e.l.f. Aqua Beauty Aqua-Infused Blush & Bronzer Review

2
The e.l.f. Cosmetics section at my local Target recently got a makeover and they've added lots of new products to their in-store lineup. I grabbed a few things, including two of the the Aqua Beauty Aqua-Infused Blush & Bronzer duos ($6).

They come in a black compact with a mirror, similar to the original powder blush/bronzer duos they've had for years, except these are a bouncy cream-to-powder formulation similar to Colourpop or the Maybelline Bouncy Blushes.

Now Available! QVC Tili (Try It Love It) Box- Only $22

8

Launching today on QVC.com is their brand new Tili Box (stands for Try It, Love it) and it's an amazing deal filled with some of their best-selling beauty products for only $22 + $3 shipping!

Valued at over $154, the Tili Box contains 3 full-sized and 5 deluxe-sized products from prestige beauty brands, including Laura Geller, IT Cosmetics, Philosophy and more. There are limited quantities available and it will likely sell out very fast, so if you're interested, don't hesitate on this one or you'll miss out!

Also, first--time QVC customers can use code FIVE4U which will take $5 off your order, making the box only $17 ($20 with shipping).

Here's what's included:

  • Laura Geller Spackle SPF 30 Primer 2 oz. $32- Full Size!- This primer is one of the best on the market in my opinion. It has a creamy feel and really helps your makeup to grip and last all day...plus this one has SPF 30!
  • NudeStix Lip & Cheek Pencil in Mystic- $24- Full Size!- This is my first time trying NudeStix and I'm hooked. It's so creamy and gives your lips full coverage color. It also makes it so easy to line and fill in in one step. This shade is a beautiful pinky nude that would look great on just about everyone.
  • Julep Eyeliner in Black $16- Full Size!-  I already have a bunch of these in my collection in several different colors because they glide on so easily with no tugging and are long-lasting on my eyes.
  • bareMinerals Bare Haven Moisturizer 1 oz. - Appx $20  (full size =1.7oz for $35)- This is a really nice unscented moisturizer made for normal to dry skin. It's not greasy and sinks in right away, so makeup applies really nicely over it.
  • Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser 2 oz.- Appx $6  (larger 8 oz. = $24)- This is my holy grail face cleanser and I've been using it for the better part of 20 years (wow, I feel old!). It's so gentle on your skin but still removes everything including mascara. Plus it doesn't leave my dry skin feeling tight...there's nothing else like it!
  • Wen Cleansing Conditioner in Lavender, Pomegranate or Tea Tree 6 oz.- Appx $12  (full size= 16oz. for $32)- I haven't tried any of these three Wen formulas yet, but have been using the 613 and Sweet Almond Mint formulas over the years. I'm always amazed that a conditioner could actually leave my hair feeling clean and not weighed down at all...if you're into cleansing conditioners, this one is the best on the market.
  • Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream .5 oz. - Appx $40 (full size = 1.6 oz. for $128)- I recently did a full blog post on this cream and it's become a staple in my skincare routine. It's super hydrating and leaves my skin looking and feeling so smooth and soft.
  • IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in Medium .135 oz.- Appx $4.50 value (full size = 1.08 oz. for $38)- This is another holy grail product for me...I use it almost every day and haven't found anything else like it on the market. It's gives you full coverage but feels like a moisturizer going on...no cakiness, no clinging to dry patches...it's amazing! Plus it has SPF 50 so it'll protect your skin at the same time, no extra sunscreen required!

I'm so excited about this box because it includes so many personal favorites of mine...and because the box itself is $10 less than the price of the Laura Geller Primer alone!

I swatched the makeup products below so that you can see what the shades look like. The IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in Medium is a little too dark for my skin tone (I usually wear Light) but even if it's not a match for you, it's still a good way to test the formula and see if you like the way it wears. The Julep eyeliner is a really nice rich black and the NudeStix Lip & Cheek Pencil in Mystic is a universally flattering rosy nude shade.

If you're interested in purchasing this box, run, don't walk to QVC.com and grab one now! There are limited quantities available and the box sold out quickly when it was launched in the UK a while back. Also, if this is your first time shopping at QVC, don't forget to use code FIVE4U to get $5 off.

Happy Shopping!

Pixi + ItsJudyTime Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

0
pixi itsjudytime eyeshadow palette review
I recently picked up the new ITSJUDYTIME Eyeshadow Palette from Pixi Beauty and I've been using it for a few weeks now, so I'm ready to share my thoughts with you! It's available now at Target and the $24 price point is somewhere in-between a drugstore palette and one that's more high-end.

It comes in a  really pretty lavender box with Judy's photo on the back (if you're not familiar with her, she has a few different YouTube channels that focus on beauty and lifestyle).

The palette itself comes in Pixi's signature pistachio green color and has a clear lid so you can see all the shadows inside. There's no permanent mirror but Pixi included a small mirror inside the box that can be mounted either inside the lid of the palette or on the back.
pixi itsjudytime eyeshadow palette review

After I took my photos, I mounted the mirror to the back of the palette in that blank section on top...it fits perfectly in that space! Also on the back of the palette are the names of the shades, and I'm so glad they included them on the back rather than on one of those clear plastic sheets.

There are twelve eyeshadows in mostly warm-toned shades in matte and shimmer finishes. I do like the shade range a lot! I think it's a very wearable palette and she included some nice matte transition shades, shimmery lid shades, and deeper smokier colors to create a variety of looks. My one complaint about the shade range is that she did not include a matte highlight shade for the brow bone, which causes me to have to grab another palette to finish my look. Otherwise, I think there's a nice variety here.
pixi itsjudytime eyeshadow palette

I decided to swatch this palette with and without primer so that you would be able to see how the shadows perform on their own.
Without primer, the shimmer shades were very smooth and pigmented...they have a soft buttery feel and perform like higher-end shadows with no fallout! The matte shades are a bit more powdery and kick up quite a bit of fallout when you dip a brush into them. They're a bit washed out with no primer, and they don't look as deep as they do in the pan.
pixi itsjudytime eyeshadow swatches

Over primer, all of the shades perform beautifully. The shimmers are fine without it but the dustier matte shades definitely need something to grip to for best results.
pixi itsjudytime eyeshadow swatches

Overall, I think this is a decent palette for the price but when you're roaming the aisles at Target, there are still less expensive palettes that will perform just as well (if not better), such as the Cover Girl TruNaked palettes or the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palettes or Avant Pop palettes. I'm also not crazy about the fact that this palette doesn't have a matte highlight shade in it.

But aside from a few negatives, this palette is still $15-$25 cheaper than a palette from brands like Lorac, Tarte, Too Faced etc., and it has a really on-trend warm-toned shade range that a lot of people are looking for. So if the shades speak to you, it's definitely still worth picking up...as long as you use primer!

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Review

6

If you have long hair like I do, you probably consider drying your hair to be a total chore. I have fine hair that can get flat and greasy at the roots within a day, so I love to wash my hair pretty often to keep it looking decent. The problem is, I hate to dry it! The whole process can take just as long as my actual shower, which adds another 10-15 minutes to my morning routine.

So when I recently had the opportunity to try the new Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, I jumped at the chance. Now keep in mind, it isn't cheap at $399...it's definitely the most expensive hair dryer I've ever owned. But just like their vacuums (which we also have in our house), the high-tech performance and results you get from using it helps to justify the cost quite a bit. Also, I had my last hair dryer for over 10 years, so it's not something that I purchase on a regular basis...and when I do, I want to make sure it's something that I love and will last a long time.

Let's take a look!

Benefit Hoola Lite Review and Swatches

Benefit Cosmetics is about to launch their new Hoola Lite bronzer at Ulta this coming Sunday and I just so happened to find one in-store a few days early! Hoola Lite is a natural, soft matte bronzer that's ideal for fair skin and claims to have a smooth, finely milled texture.

I used to use the original Hoola bronzer in the summertime when I was younger and tanned a lot...I loved the natural matte finish and the way it blended seamlessly into my skin. But the past few years I've been really careful to avoid sun exposure, and I stay pretty fair year-round so the original Hoola is way too dark for me.

Thankfully, Benefit had us fair-skinned gals in mind when they created Hoola Lite.  Let's take a look!

Disappointing Products

19

Today I wanted to share a few products I've tried recently that didn't work out for me. I'm not always happy about doing this kind of post because most of these products are from brands that I really like as a whole and I feel kind of bad speaking negatively about some of their products. But at the same time, it's rare to like every single thing a brand puts out, so there will inevitably be certain products that don't work and others that do.

Also, I hope you don't take offense if you happen to disagree with me and really like one or more of the products mentioned in this post. Beauty products are such a personal thing and there are so many factors that could make something work out for one person and not another. So I'll be talking about all the reasons these products didn't work out for me personally, but they might just work out for you...you never know.

Let's take a look!

bareMinerals Launches Invisible Glow Powder Highlighters

1

I don't know about you guys, but I'm all.about. natural highlighters for every day. I'm a huge fan of the Essence Pure Nude highlighter and the Hourglass Ambient Powders because they're so subtle and give that "lit from within" glow when the light catches your skin. Of course, I do love a more intense highlight when I'm being photographed or if I'm going out at night, but I tend to wear much less glowy formulas on a daily basis.

bareMinerals has just launched a new illuminator that's right up my alley, called Invisible Glow Powder Highlighter ($28 at Ulta.com). It's supposed to give you a soft, natural glow and comes in four shades so you can easily find the right one for your skin tone. I love that aspect of it because I'm often left wondering which highlighter is going to work for me...this takes the guesswork out of it!

Shades:

  • Fair to Light: mélange of beige + opal blend to create a glistening icy white ideal for fair-to-light skin tones.
  • Medium: mélange of pink + gold blend to create a glistening soft pink ideal for medium skin tones.
  • Tan: mélange of champagne + copper blend to create a glistening warm copper ideal for tan skin tones.
  • Dark to Deep: mélange of bronze + coral blend to create a glistening warm bronze ideal for dark-to-deep skin tones.
Description:
Get a gorgeous glow customized for your skin tone with bareMinerals Invisible Glow. This luxuriously smooth, baked formula delivers sheer color that looks naturally luminous, never overdone. Ultra-fine reflective pearls catch the light to create a natural glow that mimics how sunlight reflects on skin.

Invisible Glow is made by Italian artisans, and no two are exactly alike. The pigment-packed formula begins as a cream, is baked on a terracotta tile for 24 hours, and hand-finished for an ultra-lightweight powder that feels creamy upon application, and delivers pure pigment and pearl, with no binders or fillers.

I will definitely be picking up the Fair to Light shade and can't wait to try it! Especially since they're a lot less expensive than the Hourglass powders. What about you? Are you into subtle highlighters or do you like ones that pack more of a punch?
