Natasha Denona Dupes Coming Soon to ShopHush

2

I've been loving the ShopHush website lately and it's mainly due to a new brand called Bad Habit Beauty. They dupe popular palettes and only charge around $10-$12 for them. The best part is, they're actually amazing quality. If you've seen my swatches over on Instagram, you know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, they just announced that they're launching a brand new set of palettes called Solstice and Supernova. They appear to be solid dupes for the Natasha Denona Sunset and Lila palettes and will cost $16 each (or $24 for both).

Close-ups below...what do you think? Will you be picking these up?

I should also mention that if you use the Shop Hush app (available in the app store), shipping is free on all orders (no minimum purchase), so that's how I order every time.

What's New at Beautypical!

0

The Beautypical Beauty Community is growing every day (we have over 1,800 members since our October 20th launch) and I love seeing all of the awesome stuff our members are submitting...every time I log on to the site, there's new things to see.

Our Deals Page is constantly being updated with so many amazing beauty deals, and we are getting some awesome swatch submissions on our Swatch Page (it's also searchable so you can enter the things you'd like to see swatches of).
Our Dupes Thread in the forum has also taken off lately and we're seeing some really great dupes coming in! The Spotted Page was slow to grow at first but lately we're seeing more activity on here as well. We'd love to see more people out taking photos in stores when a new display pops up...it really helps fellow beauty lovers know where to look!

Have you signed up at Beautypical yet? I would love to have you guys become part of the community! See you there. :)

The Pur Cosmetics Black Friday sale is in full swing with BOGO FREE sitewide (which is a crazy-good deal!), so I wanted to share some of my favorite PUR products with you guys because I feel like they're such an underrated brand.  I don't often hear a lot of beauty bloggers/YouTubers talking about them, which means that you might not have any idea which products are worth picking up. So read on if you'd like to hear my tried-and-true favorites!

Black Friday/Cyber Monday | What I'm Buying

2

Black Friday and all the deals are almost upon us (and in some cases, have already started!) and I've started making my list of products I want to purchase so I don't miss out on anything and kick myself later on. Deep discounts on beauty products don't come along all that often, so I definitely like to stock up on products I know I'll use, even if I don't need them right now. There are also some new products that will be launching this weekend, so I have a few of those in mind as well.

My Nighttime Skincare Routine

2
Hey everyone! My nighttime skincare routine is finally up on my YouTube Channel and it's really focused on anti-aging...more so than during the day. This routine is for dry skin but there are quite a few products here (like the Rice Brightening Cleansing Wipes, Pixi Glow Tonic, Algenist Genius Serum, and Eyelash Serum) that can be used on most skin types.

Here's my video below (you can play it right from here...no need to go over to YouTube) and then a quick recap of everything in the video in case you don't have time to watch it.

Products mentioned in the video:

Cleansers:
Belif Cleansing Gel Oil Enriched ($34) -This cleanser is so gentle yet amazing at removing makeup. Doesn't leave a greasy film.
Skinfood Rice Brightening Cleansing Tissues ($12)- Removes makeup without leaving a film and brightens at the same time. Plus you get 80 wipes so they last a long time!
Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm ($65)- One of my favorites for years now...makes makeup removal feel like a spa treatment and my skin glows after using it.

Toners:
Skinfood Avocado Toner ($20)- I've been using this for years...so hydrating and a great first layer after cleansing for dry skin. I wish they would bring the Avocado line to Ulta!
Pixi Glow Tonic-to-Go ($18)- I use these once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and smooth rough texture on my skin.

Serum:
Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen Serum ($115)- This is the first anti-aging product I've used where I saw results within a few days. It's pricey but worth it!

Moisturizers:
Elemis Peptide 4 Night Recovery Cream Oil ($59)- Lightweight texture but still super hydrating ...filled with anti-aging peptides, Omega 3, and antioxidants.
Colleen Rothschild Retinol Supreme Night Oil ($85) - I layer this over the Elemis to seal all of the moisture in. The first retinol I've tried that doesn't dry out my skin, even with nightly use. When I wake up in the morning, my skin is absolutely glowing!

Eyelashes:
Sky Organics Castor Oil ($15.95) - I've tried eyelash growth serums (GrandeLash, Rodan & Fields) but they irritated my eye area and made my lashline look red. This is an all-natural Castor Oil Treatment and it really seems to be working!

What are your favorite products to use at night? I'd love to hear about them!

Colourpop is Now at Sephora!

1

Colourpop just launched at Sephora this morning with 8 exclusive sets and palettes that you can't get anywhere else. Pricing for the Super Shock Shadows still works out to be the same ($5 each) as well as the lip glosses ($6 each). The palettes are a bit more expensive than the ones on their website at $26 but they claim to have larger pan sizes.

I ended up getting the Golden State of Mind Palette as well as the Lip Gloss Trio! Are you getting anything from the launch?

What's in My Everyday Makeup Bag?

1

Hey guys! It's been a while and I'm so sorry I haven't been updating but I've been working hard on my beauty-sharing site Beautypical.com and getting that all set up. It's been a process but so much fun seeing all of the new people joining and posting lots of deals, swatches, and new product sightings!

Anyway, I recently posted a video on YouTube that I wanted to share with you and it's all about the products I use on an everyday basis. I end up getting a lot of new products every month whether I'm buying them or getting them from PR companies, but when I'm pressed for time during the busy workweek, I usually stick to my tried and true products that I know will look good and take as little time as possible.
I hope you enjoy and would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!  :)

NEW Beauty Social Network- Beautypical + Huda Beauty Giveaway!

5
I'm so proud to announce a new way to share our love of beauty products...Beautypical.com! I was heavily involved in the development of this site and have been beta testing it for a few weeks and I'm really excited about all of the features.

In a nutshell, here's what you can do on the site:

1. Submit your favorite YouTube videos...the ones you've found to be most helpful. YouTube is such a huge place that many smaller YouTubers that are producing great content are getting buried in the search results and not shown due to the new algorithm. You can rate the videos that are submitted to the Beautypical site and the best, most highly rated videos will rise to the top.

2. Submit and view Beauty Deals... all the freshest coupon codes and beauty deals. No more wading through coupon sites for the beauty stuff, or following multiple accounts on Instagram. This is all in one place.

3. Swatches...A huge gallery of makeup swatches that's searchable by brand or product name. Rate the ones you like the best to let the most helpful, most true-to-life swatches rise to the top of the results.

4. Spotted...This category was one of my additions to the site and is kind of an ode to Nouveau Cheap (I really miss her site and all the deals and product sightings!). Here, you can submit new product sightings, both online and in-store. Also, the in-store sighting has a map option so you can specify exactly which location you found the product in, so that people who live locally to you know which store to visit (whether it's CVS, Rite Aid, Sephora, etc.).

5. Forum...this is the place to talk with other members of the site and discuss new products launches, share beauty tips, ask beauty-related questions, share your looks, and more.

Users can also gain "Beautypical Credit" every time they share something on the site, and also when their content gets rated positively. Every week there are challenges that you can meet and the person with the most credit will win something (Ulta/Sephora gift cards, high-end palettes, etc).

Giveaway!

I'm so excited to share the site with you and I hope that you'll sign up and play with everything! This week, they're giving away a Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette (worth $65 to one person at random who signs up for the site and submits at least one deal, swatch, or video).

Tartelette Toasted Palette Now Available!

2

The Tartelette Toasted Palette is now available on TarteCosmetics.com ($45). The Tartelette in Bloom is my favorite palette ever so I ended up getting this one too. It reminds me of a toned-down Naked Heat palette with more light, wearable shades (I found the Naked Heat to be very dark overall).

Will you be getting this one?

Faves Under $5

0
Drugstore prices have definitely been climbing lately but there are still some hidden gems under $5 that (in my opinion) can even compete with higher end brands!
Today's video is all about my favorite concealer, blush, bronzer, highlighters, contour, eyeshadows, and lipsticks...and everything is under $5.

Recent Disappointing Products

1
I usually keep things pretty positive around here and talk about products I love (since it's more fun that way), but I also recognize the need for balance, and that you guys also need to hear about products that didn't work out for me. So my latest video on YouTube is all about products I've tried recently that were disappointing in one way or another:

I'd love to hear your thoughts! :)

Sephora 10 Years of Beauty Insider Freebies + Haul

0

If you have any shopping to do at Sephora, now's a great time to do it, because they're celebrating 10 Years of their Beauty Insider program with great new freebies with any $25 order. Today's freebie is the new IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce, which I've been dying to try ever since I put some on the back of my hand in-store and it transformed from dry and flaky to soft and supple right before my eyes.
The Verb Ghost Prep hair serum is also still available from yesterday's deal.

Speaking of Verb, I actually ordered their Ghost Oil today, since I've heard awesome things about it (especially that it doesn't weigh your hair down). I also picked up the new Clinique Sweet As Honey Eyeshadow Palette, since the deep berry shades were really speaking to me. I don't have another palette like it and I think it'll be great for Fall/Winter looks! Finally, I also grabbed one of the Tarte Color Splash Lipsticks in the shade Siesta because it's my favorite lipstick formula of all time...moisturizing and smoothing, super lightweight, and full coverage.

Here's a look at my cart from today:

So head on over to Sephora.com before this latest freebie is gone (it's only available online). What will you be picking up?

Profusion Cosmetics Coming to Target + Unboxing!

1

You might be familiar with Profusion Cosmetics if you've ever seen their Holiday sets in Walgreens around this time of year and also in discount stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, Burlington, Five Below, etc. I've reviewed several of their products over the years but I was never really able to point you guys to a specific store because the stock is always different depending on where you live.

But not anymore! Profusion is coming to Target and will be in all stores by November 5th! Not only that, but they've totally revamped their line for Holiday 2017 and have all new products with new formulas...yet they're still at a super affordable price point.

September Anti-Haul

8

With the Holiday season approaching, there are more new makeup releases than ever, and there's no way I can possibly try everything that piques my interest. So before I jump too quickly, I've been thinking long and hard about my purchases, saving my money for the things I know that I'll really use.  That's where today's Anti-Haul comes in! As always, I'm not saying that any of these products are bad...just that they're not right for me in one way or another (too expensive, too similar to other things I have, etc).

Let's take a look!

Sephora Weekly Wow

2

I don't always post the Sephora Weekly Wow because some weeks the deals aren't that great (or the products don't interest me that much) but this week's deals are crazy-good!

The Urban Decay Moondust Palette and Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette (which I just bought at full price over the summer...grrr) are 50% off! I highly recommend the Tarte palette...it's become one of my absolute favorite palettes to use. It's all matte and the shades are the most perfect everyday shades. Plus you get bronzer and contour shades as well. It's so blendable and easy to work with...pretty much the perfect palette for beginners (would also make a great holiday gift for a teenager just getting into makeup!).

Also, the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion exfoliator is 50% off, and there are deals on the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and the Sephora Collection Smokey Eye brush set.

Head on over to Sephora.com to shop the deals because they'll only last until Sunday (or until they sell out!).

September Favorites + I'm On YouTube!

4

Hey Guys! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted...things have been crazy-busy at home but I've also been working on a new project- a YouTube Channel!

As much as I love writing and taking photos, it's become very hard to keep up with everything in my personal life in addition to writing out blog posts. It's extremely time consuming, especially editing the photos of products (that probably takes the longest). So I thought it might be easier to just hop on camera and actually show you the products! I'm not super comfortable on camera yet, but I'm sure I'll get there with time.
My plan is to keep my blog and still update you on new product launches (and quicker posts like that) and I'll also share my videos with you (like I'm doing here). I really hope that you'll consider subscribing to my channel as well! It's going to be just like my blog...but you'll just get to see me talk about the products in person. :)

I can promise you that I'm not going to "sell out" or do anything differently than I do here. My goal isn't to become the next big YouTube star and I plan to keep things very "real" and unpolished. I feel like YouTube has become commercialized these days and too professional...I miss the days when it was just beauty enthusiasts sitting in their bedroom talking about their favorite products.

So without further ado...here's my September favorites!
Products mentioned in the video:

New Tartelette Flirt Palette at Sephora

2
While we wait patiently for the Tartelette Toasted palette to launch (should be any day now), there's the cute little Tartelette Flirt Palette ($23 at Sephora). The warm-toned shades inside look very similar to photos I've seen of the larger Toasted palette with both matte (4) and shimmer (2) finishes.

I happen to really love Tarte's mini palettes (sometimes more than their larger sisters) so I didn't hesitate to grab this one as soon as I saw it on the site.

What about you? Will you be indulging in Tartelette Flirt?

The Neutrogena #BestieSaleEver + My Recommendations

3
This post is sponsored by Neutrogena

For three days only, starting today Neutrogena is having their #BestieSaleEver! Just like you and your besties, your skincare routine isn't the same without your favorite Neutrogena products, so make sure to head on over to Neutrogena.com to take advantage of the sale now through 9/23.

Three deals, three days only:

  • Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Acne, Cleansing, or Men's products.
  • $4 off the Rapid Wrinkle Repair Line
  • $10 off Light Therapy Products

This includes some of my personal favorites from the line, starting with the Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($7.99). I've been using them for many years and I love them because they take off makeup easily without leaving a film or residue on my skin.

I've also recently discovered the new Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel ($8.99) and if you have dry skin like I do, you're going to love it! It contains hyaluronic acid and is super gentle so it doesn't strip your skin, plus it's great for taking off my makeup. It has a silky smooth texture and foams up into a cushiony, creamy lather with an amazing light, fresh scent. I struggle to find cleansers that don't make my skin feel tight and this one doesn't, plus it's so affordable! It's also soap-free, oil-free, paraben-free, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic.

Another product that I've used for years is the Deep Clean Gentle Scrub ($7.49). I discovered this gentle yet effective exfoliator after using a more expensive version that contains very similar ingredients. In addition to being a scrub, it also contains Beta Hydroxy Acid to chemically exfoliate deep down into your pores...great for preventing breakouts! I tend to get hormonal breakouts on my chin every month, so I start using this a few days beforehand and it has really kept pimples at bay, plus it makes my skin feel so smooth. Since I have dry skin, I don't use this every day or it makes my skin feel too dry, but once a week is great for me. If you're more oily, you can definitely use it more frequently.

So those are my personal recommendations for the sale...I would love to know what your favorite Neutrogena products are and what you plan to buy during the sale!

Head over to Neutrogena.com to take advantage of the sale now through 9/23!

New Drugstore Releases Coming Soon to Amazon

3
It's that time of year when all of the new Fall Drugstore collections are starting to arrive! But instead of popping up in stores, they'll be coming to Amazon.com first, just like last year. To be honest, it kind of bums me out because I miss the thrill of the hunt and finding new stuff at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Walgreens or Walmart. Now by the time it arrives in-store, everyone has already tried and reviewed it so I guess I need to just jump on the bandwagon and order from Amazon already.

Keep in mind that these products aren't available for purchase just yet...but they should be any day now. Let's take a look!

Colourpop I Think I Love You is The Perfect Fall Palette

4
colourpop i think i love you palette

I was so impressed with Colourpop's Yes Please! Palette, I didn't hesitate to pick up the new I Think I Love You Palette last week as soon as it launched. It's a beautiful fall palette full of rich bronzes, coppers, brown, and gold in a mix of matte and shimmer finishes and it all comes housed in reflective, rose gold packaging.

Hot Deal on Lorac Palettes at Ulta

1
The Lorac L.A. Palettes are currently 50% off at Ulta Beauty, making them $12 each. I'm really wishing I had waited but that's the nature of the makeup world I guess. You never know what's going to end up on sale or if the stock will be around long enough.

Still if you didn't end up getting these when they launched (or got one and want some more), now's the chance to grab them before they sell out!

Visit my original post here to see swatches of all three palettes.

My First BoxyCharm Unboxing

4
To say that I'm over subscription boxes is an understatement. I cancelled Birchbox and Ipsy years ago and while I had some hope that I would love the Sephora Play and Macy's subscription boxes, I ended up getting rid of those as well. Rarely did I discover something new that I could use...I kept getting the same things over and over again (how many little tubes of the POREfessional does one person need?) and I had a huge bin of samples sitting in my room that started to give me anxiety as it overflowed onto the carpet.

So why did I end up trying yet another box? Because BoxyCharm seemed different. It's $21 a month so it's double the price of Sephora Play, Ipsy, and Birchbox and $5 more than Macy's...BUT you get 4-5 full sized products, not samples!

Not to mention that I was paying $25 a month between Sephora Play and Macy's anyway so I just cancelled them both in favor of BoxyCharm.

And guess what? I'm super happy with September's box...we're off to a great start! Let's take a look...

NEW Physicians Formula Butter Highlighters + Swatches!

5
physicians formula butter highlighter display

Guess what just landed at Harmon/Bed, Bath, & Beyond...Physicians Formula Butter Highlighters ($9.99 each)! Somehow, I knew it was only a matter of time before they expanded their Butter line to include highlighters!
I was honestly surprised to see these because every time I've gone into Harmon's/BBB lately, they never have anything new. They used to be the first place I looked but the past year or so, drugstore products have been launching first at Walmart or on Amazon. But thanks to a heads up from @v_solid_ on Instagram who found them at her local Harmon in NYC yesterday, I headed straight for Bed, Bath, & Beyond this morning (my store has a Harmon's inside) and there they were!

 Let's take a look...
physicians formula butter highlighters
The Butter Highlighters come in four shades, Pearl (white with a pink shift), Champagne (gold), Pink/Rose (pink) and Rose Gold (rosy bronze).

The packaging is totally different than the Butter Bronzers/Blushes. The latter have a separate compartment underneath with a mirror and a sponge, which make them a bit bulky. The Butter Highlighters come in low profile jars with a screw-on lid similar to the Colourpop Super Shock Highlighters.

The formula is also completely different than the other Butter products in that these are cream-to-powder. They're infused with Murumuru Butter and contain "ultra-refined pearls and soft-focus pigments that smooth skin texture, brighten skin tone, and deliver a gorgeous highlighted finish."

They're made in the U.S.A. and contain .17oz of product (compared to .15 in the Colourpop highlighters).

To me, the formula most closely resembles (again) the Colourpop Super Shock highlighters with an ultra-creamy, bouncy texture that picks up at the slightest touch and blends easily across the skin. The shades are super shiny with a metallic finish and they have the same tropical coconut scent that the Butter Bronzers and Blushes have.

I haven't tried these on my face yet so I can't yet speak for the wear time, but I just wanted to get this post up to let you guys know that these are available in stores now and to show you some swatches. I'll let you know my final thoughts on these in a future post once I've had a chance to try them a bit.

What are your thoughts? Are you excited to try these?

Rihanna's Fenty Beauty Just Landed at Sephora

9
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna just landed at Sephora today (both in-stores and online) with sixteen products ranging from foundation to highlighters to a universal lip gloss.

According to Rihanna, "Fenty Beauty was created for everyone: for women of all shades, all personalities, attitudes, cultures, and races. I wanted everyone to feel included, that's the real reason I made this line."

The foundation range has an incredible 40 shades and every skin tone should be able to find a highlighter that works for them as well. The Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer is also interesting as it only comes in one rosy nude shade that claims to work for everyone.

What are your thoughts on the line? Have you already purchased anything? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Skinfood Yuja Water C Whitening Ampoule Review

3

Skinfood is hands-down my favorite affordable skincare brand, so when Ulta was having the 10x points sale a while back and BOGO 40% on Skinfood, I decided to take advantage and pick up a few of their more expensive products that I've had on my list to try. On the top of my list was the Yuja Water C Whitening Ampoule in Serum ($39).
