March Favorites Day 5- Matte Blushes

2
Day 5 of my March Favorites is all about matte blushes! The older I get, the more I've come to appreciate a matte finish on my cheeks...they don't accentuate my pores or make me look glittery, which is a good thing. Both of my picks today offer a highly pigmented formula that's super blendable which is really important because sometimes, a highly pigmented blush can be hard to blend and appear streaky on your face (or give you clown cheeks). Also, a little goes a long way with these, so you only need to tap your blush into the pan lightly and then build up if you need to.

Favorite Matte Blush (high-end):

Lorac Color Source Buildable Blush ($23)
You can tell just by looking at the swatches how smooth and soft these are! They go on a little sheerer when applied with a brush (finger swatches make them look deeper than they really are) and the shade range is just gorgeous. As a pale-skinned girl, my favorite shades to wear are Tinge, Prism, and Spectra...they're all stunning. These slightly edged out my second favorite high-end matte blushes which are from The Balm (those are amazing too) because they're just so easy to work with.

Available at Ulta.com, Nordstrom.com, Kohls.com
Favorite Matte Blush (drugstore):

City Color Be Matte Blush ($3.99)
I discovered these years ago and they're still my favorite affordable matte blushes! Like the Lorac ones, these are highly pigmented but blend really nicely on your cheeks. Plus the pans are huge and they're an absolute steal at just under $4. My favorite shades to wear are Papaya, Guava, and Blackberry, and Toasted Coconut is a fabulous matte bronzer for fair to light skin tones.

What are your favorite matte blushes? I'd love to hear about them in the comments below. :)

Tomorrow I'll be talking about my favorite shimmery blushes!

  1. I LOVE the Be Matte blushes and found them through your site last year back when you were Budget Beauty Blog. They are my HG blushes now and I haven't found anything I like better for the price. Someday I'm going to splurge on those Lorac blushes too. Looking at your swatches has me swooning over Tinge and Prism!
