New Skincare Sunday 8/13/17

Welcome to the first edition of New Skincare Sunday! Each week, I'll be highlighting the newest skincare products that have landed in stores and online, and this one is a long one, so grab a cup of coffee or a snack and let's get started!

IT Cosmetics has just launched a few new skincare products including the Secret Sauce Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer ($68 at Sephora). It has a fermented complex with seven clinically advanced fermented anti-aging ingredients, plus collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and licorice root to reduce discolorations, lines, and wrinkles.

Also, their Confidence in a Cleanser ($28) is now available at Ulta and QVC (it's actually a few dollars cheaper on QVC and even comes with a travel-size of the new Miracle Water Essence). It's supposed to be a cleanser and softening serum in one that removes makeup and is sulfate-free and soap-free for clean skin with no residue.

The new Bye Bye Redness Skin Relief Treatment Moisturizer ($48 at Ulta)  claims to neutralize and soothe the look of redness while deeply nourishing the skin.

Kiehl's has just launched at Sephora this week and I couldn't be more excited. I'm a huge fan of this brand, particularly the four products above, and I no longer have to drive a half an hour  to Nordstrom to stock up on my favorites...I'll be able to drive 10 minutes to my local Sephora!

Korean skincare brand Laneige has also landed at Sephora recently. You may remember that they were sold in Target for a while and I was pretty bummed when I went in there one day a few months ago and couldn't find the Water Bank Cream anymore (love it in the winter time!). It doesn't look like the prices have changed and they do offer some new products that weren't at Target such as the Lip Sleeping Mask (definitely on my list of things to try!).

New from Algenist is their Genius Liquid Collagen, a dual-phase formula that has the highest-concentration of active plant collagen and 13,000 microalgae oil beads, omega's 3, 6, & 9, and Vitamin E for younger looking skin in 10 days. It's pricey but I'm a big believer in Algenist...I've been using their products for years, so this one's definitely going on the list!

  • Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen ($115 at Sephora.com)

Fresh has just launched a brand new lip balm, Sugar Caramel that claims to deliver 24-hour moisture in a non-sticky formula, with an addictive caramel scent. It contains Sugar (a natural humectant, Apricot Kernel Oil, Black Currant Seed Oil, and Grapeseed Oil to smooth, nourish, and soften your lips.

  • Fresh Sugar Lip Caramel Hydrating balm ($18 at Sephora.com).

Peter Thomas Roth has just added four new new Glycolic Acid-based products to his line of anti-agers including a 3% glycolic cleanser, 8% glycolic toner, 20% glycolic peel swabs, and 10% glycolic moisturizer. Glycolic acid is very effective at smoothing out your skin's texture, reducing the appearance of pores, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and correcting uneven skin tone. I've been using glycolic acid products for many years (I currently have a few from Pixi's line at Target) but I may try these when my current products run out.

Belif is following the success of their True Cream Aqua Bomb with the new Moisturizing Eye Bomb, which claims to flood lines and wrinkles with 26 hours of continuous moisture and improve the elasticity of the skin under the eyes for crease-proof makeup application.

Pacifica has just released a new line of vegan lip balms that are cruelty-free with no "insects, bees, or bugs" involved (hmm...a not-so-subtle dig at Burt's Bees?). There are 6 delicious-sounding flavors, plus the Lips Like Sugar Candied Lemon & Sugar Lip Scrub.

The newest Korean skincare brand to arrive at Ulta.com is Cosrx, whose claim to fame is high-performance products made with simple, gentle ingredients. I keep hearing a lot of buzz about their products and since I'm such a big fan of Korean skincare, I definitely want to give them a try (I just have to use up some other products first!).

Canadian skincare brand Skinfix has been expanding their line at Ulta recently with the addition of new products like the Energizing Micro Scrub, Coconut Water Hydrating Mist, Rough & Bumpy Renewing Cream, and Lip Repair Balm. I've had them on my list of skincare to try ever since this past winter when I fell in love with their hand cream. They're an affordably priced brand (nothing over $25) and seem to get really good reviews so I have high hopes.

Last but not least, Fizz & Bubble might be the cutest brand to hit Ulta in a while with fruity lip scrubs, bath bombs packaged like truffles and milkshakes, and cupcakes for the bath that both fizz and foam. Everything is priced between $6-$25 and I've seen them in stores already so if you're a fan of taking baths, definitely check them out next time you're there!

Fizz & Bubble available at Ulta.com

And that's your skincare news for the week! What's on your list of things to try? I'd love to hear about it in the comments below!

  1. Oh my gosh, so many new things to try! I'm really interested in the It Cosmetics cleanser and Secret Sauce. I also want to try the Fresh Caramel Lip Balm and those Fizz and Bubble lip scrubs. The PTR Glycolic line looks interesting too but expensive. How are you liking the Pixi versions you have?

    1. I really like them! I think they're awesome especially for the price. I have the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser which is fabulous, the Glow Tonic toner, and the Overnight Glow Serum. I highly recommend them all! :)

  2. I came here from Instagram and even though I've been following you on there a while I didn't even know you had a blog. I'm so happy to see reviews of products you swatched on IG because I always wondered if you ended up liking them in the long run. I have a lot of reading to do now! LOL.

    1. Yay! I'm so happy you found my site! I mainly use Instagram as a way to get swatches and information out quickly as soon as I get new products but once I try them for a few weeks, I post my full reviews on here, so between the two sites, there's very different content! :)

  3. I just got the it cosmetics cleanser at Ulta! I work there and we just put them out the other day. It's soooo good. It takes off makeup easily and has no smell and makes your skin feel soft and healthy. I've been recommending it to everyone who comes in the store. :)

    1. Hi Leigh-Ann, I've had the same result with the IT cleanser. I have dry skin and it's so nice to find a formula that dissolves makeup and leaves my skin feeling really clean but not stripped. It's awesome! :)
