British YouTube guru Tanya Burr has her own line of cosmetics but since it's not sold in the states, I had no idea! I first spotted the products when I was browsing FeelUnique.com, which is a UK based beauty site - one of the few that ships to the U.S.! Everything in her line was so affordable, I decided to add a few things to my cart and ended up getting free shipping since my total was just over $30.
The first thing I couldn't resist trying was the Peachy Glow Cheek Palette ($8.70) because it looks just like the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette. You may remember that the Too Faced version faced a bit of criticism because the powders were packed very hard and were difficult to pick up. I happen to own that one as well and I almost never use it for that reason, so I was curious to see if this one was a suitable dupe.
I'll start with the negative...there are just two things about the Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Cheek Palette that aren't quite as nice as the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow...one is that it doesn't have that heavenly peach scent, and the other is that the packaging isn't quite as nice. Too Faced housed theirs in a sturdy metal tin while the Tanya Burr version is in a cardboard compact. It's not bad by any means...it even comes with a mirror and pretty designs stamped into the powder...it's just not as luxe as the Too Faced palette.
That's where my complaints end, as the powders are super soft and very easy to pick up. The colors suit my fair-to-light skin tone very nicely and they blend well on my skin.
Looking at the two side-by-side, they really do look quite similar.
When swatched on my skin, I actually prefer the shades in the Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Palette over the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow. The Tanya Burr bronzer is cooler and doesn't have as much shimmer...it's more of a satin finish. The blushes are very similar in color, but again, the Tanya Burr isn't as shimmery, and I prefer it that way. The highlighter in the Tanya Burr palette is more of a champagne shade that's better suited to my skin tone, while Too Faced has a warmer, peachy tint to it.
Overall, I really love the Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Palette and I'm so glad I picked it up...it's affordable and the quality is great! It's a really nice dupe for the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette, but even better because the shades compliment my skin tone a bit more.
**If you plan to check out this palette or poke around on the FeelUnique website, I just want to mention a couple of things...first, if you use my link here, you'll get a discount off of your first order (discount is 10 British Pounds which equals about $12.86 USD if you spend $30 or more...you'll also get free shipping). Also, to change the currency to US, you have to click on the flag at the top right of the page...that way you can shop without having to figure out how much everything is. Also, as I mentioned above, standard shipping is free from the UK to the US if you spend $30, but my order did take about a week and a half (10 days or so) to get here. They do have faster options, but they cost more.
They have some great brands we can't get here anymore like Bourjois and some different versions of our own drugstore products from L'oreal, Maybelline and Rimmel that we don't have here yet. It's interesting to see, as sometimes new products get released overseas before they come here.
What are your thoughts on the Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Palette? Have you ordered from feelunique.com before?

VERY nice! I like the peach scent but this is a great alternative for people who can't wear scented products for whatever reason.
ReplyDeleteI love the Peach scent too but it's not a deal breaker for me...and you're right! Great for people who are more sensitive. :)
DeleteMy most recent feelunique.com purchase arrived just this week, as a matter of fact. Being frugal, I went with the free shipping and it arrived in a week. I ordered the pink L'Oreal Infallible blush palette; the U.K. version comes in your choice of pink or peach, and contains 5 shades of blush (rather than 4 and a lousy brush as in the US version). Also ordered a L'Oreal stick blush we've yet to see over here, which held up nicely over 5 hours of errands in mid-90s heat and humidity.
ReplyDeleteMy typical order usually includes products that have yet to be released in the US (or may never be). If I recall correctly, you posted an item about the L'Oreal Sexy Balms; those never were released in the US, but I ordered some from feelunique.com and ASOS, and loved them.
Hi Linda, I forgot all about those Sexy Balms...I wonder why they never released them here!? I need to check out those stick blushes and the Infallible Blush Palettes as well...they sound great. :)
DeleteThank you bunches for this post! I had loads of fun browsing around the Feel Unique site and used your code for the discount. I ordered this peach palette in your post and also found a Maybelline Dream Sun Bricks bronzer palette that I've never seen in the US. I also found the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and Concealer and grabbed a couple Bourjois blushes. I was addicted to those and am so sad they're not sold in the states anymore.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to find some things you wanted to try Maegan! I agree about the Bourjois blushes...I bought a bunch when I used to work for Sephora. It's too bad they don't carry them anymore...it's a nice line and reasonably priced too! :)
DeleteWow, all 3 shades would actually work for me! I was going to use your discount code but the fine print says "The Promotion is open to all UK residents...." so I don't think we can take advantage of it in the US.
ReplyDeleteThat's so strange I wonder why it says that because I tested it out first and signed up for an account with a different email (to make sure it worked before I posted about it). I added a few products to my cart and used the code and it took the discount off. I got all the way through checkout but didn't hit submit so it looks like it should actually work! Can't hurt to try. :)
