I've been using it every day since then (it was the perfect palette to wear on Easter!) and I couldn't wait to review it for you guys. Let's take a look!

bareMinerals Bare Sensuals Palette |
Inside are 14 shades in both matte and shimmer finishes. The shimmers are very subtle...not glittery at all, making this an ideal palette for work (and also for more mature eyes and for those who don't like to wear glitter).
The formula is one of my favorites and as I said above, very underrated...I never hear anyone talk about bareMinerals eyeshadows and I have no idea why, except that maybe they don't get enough hype on social media like other brands do (Too Faced, Tarte, etc.). They're highly pigmented, super smooth and silky, and blend like a dream. If I had to compare them to another brand I would say they remind me a lot of Lorac's formula.
The color selection is as follows:
- Exposed (fairy white)
- Fortune (pink champagne)
- Shazam (shimmering pink)
- Cloud Nine (copper rose)
- Lure (modern mauve)
- Persuasion (glistening umber)
- Catalyst (shimmering burgundy)
- Hard To Get (ballet slipper pink)
- Indulge (lavender gray)
- Waltz (soft pink taupe)
- Hot Spell (simmering mauve)
- Mystify (antique lavender)
- Ensemble (smoke-out plum)
- Upgrade (hazy lilac)
My swatches below are one swipe of each color on bare skin (no primer). There are a lot of really beautiful cool-toned shades which I don't have a lot of in my collection, but there are also a couple of really pretty warm shades in the top row (Shazam and Cloud Nine). I have blue eyes and this palette is the perfect color selection to make them really pop, but honestly...these shades would flatter just about anyone!

Hi Jen! So glad you loved this palette -- me too! I'm a big fan of Bare Minerals eye shadows and collected all the 8.0 palettes over the years. But I like these newer, larger palettes even better and I think the formula has improved as well. I purchased this as soon as I saw it and I don't do that with most brands. -- Christina D.
ReplyDeleteHey Christina! I have a few of the 8.0 palettes also but you're right, these larger ones are the best! I bought the two they had over the holidays and still use them all the time. Like you, I was drawn to this one right away...the shades are so beautiful (and I knew the formula would be good).
DeleteI just bought this on Monday! I only went to Ulta to pick up a new liquid eyeliner, swatched this beauty and knew it had to be mine! I think this is the first eyeshadow palette I've purchased that is 100% wearable for me. I know I'll use every single color and I love how pigmented they are as well. I hadn't even heard about this so it was a great surprise purchase!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you're enjoying it Chelsea! I totally agree with you, every shade in this palette is wearable...I love when that happens! I feel like you really get your money's worth that way. :)
DeleteIs this limited edition or permanent?
ReplyDeleteHmm...I'm not entirely sure because it doesn't say anything about that on the website. But if I had to guess I would say that it is limited edition since all of their larger palettes have been in the past. :)
DeleteI think that I'm going to have to pull the trigger on this one right away. I was going to wait and ask for it for my birthday in July, but I really love the colors in this palette, and I would be SO sad if it was limited edition and I didn't end up getting it! I'm very, very selective about the palettes I buy (beauty on a budget), but I just can't pass this one up! The colors in this are just so beautiful! Seriously, this is "me" in a palette, and I don't think there is one shade in there that I wouldn't or couldn't wear and enjoy. I have eyes that are either blue or green depending on what I am wearing, so I think I could get an "eye popping" look no matter what combination I put together out of this one. I guess it's just going to have to be an early happy birthday to me! :D
DeleteIt looks beautiful! Color wise it looks similar to the Eye Art Artist palette from Laura Mercier.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to like this one but the tester I played with at Ulta was very unpigmented. Think it was just a dud? I ended up getting the new Lorac Pirates of the Caribbean palette, partly because of your review and partly because the tester was incredibly pigmented. I couldn't have afforded both so I had to pick one! :-D
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, oh my gosh really? That's too bad about the tester because it really is very pigmented! I've noticed that sometimes testers that sit around open in stores seem to dry out (and sometimes the shadows harden a bit from the oils on everyone's fingers dipping in there all day long). There have been times I was unimpressed when using a tester but when I tried a brand new one it was great. That could be what happened. I'm so happy you grabbed the Lorac palette though...that was a surprise for me. I wasn't planning to buy it because the color range didn't appeal to me but there are actually some really pretty shades in there (and the formula is awesome as always). :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jen and FYI -- there's a new 14.0 palette on Nordstrom's site today called Bare Naturals. I know I'm going to get it and, since we both love these palettes, I thought you might be interested too. -- Christina D.
ReplyDeleteAhh! Thanks so much Christina! I'm going to check it out right now! :)
